Thursday night Marc decided we should do something fun this weekend, and made arrangements for us to go to Destin. So Friday after class we loaded up Tressa and Kevin, and headed out. It's about an hour and a half away from us, and is supposed to be a really awesome beach-y place. Way more tourist-y and stuff than our beaches here. Unfortunately, it was drizzly and overcast the whole time we were there. BUT, we still had fun. Apparently this part of Florida is called 'The Emerald Coast', and it definitely had some of the greenest water I've ever seen. It looked so tropical, way prettier than every other Gulf Coast beach I've ever seen. We'll have to go back, because if it was that pretty on a yucky day, I can only imagine how nice it would be on a good weather day. We stayed on the Air Force base near there, and learned that we will never share a room with T again, if we can avoid it. She definitely knew we were in there with her, and refused to stay in her bed after 4:30-ish. Also, we had to wait in the bathroom while she fell asleep both nights, which wasn't our favourite part of the trip.
We got to visit with some alligators while we were there. Tressa saw her first albino gator (which turned his head and snapped at her, even he could tell how yummy she is ;). They weren't doing it while we were there, but usually you can hold a gator and feed them, so maybe we'll have to go back. As long as they don't try to eat T...
We ended up taking zero pictures there, so here are some from our last beach trip, and from today, per Grandad's request:
This girl lo-oves her banana's. She freaks out whenever she sees one, we have to be very careful to store them where she can't see them, and to not let her see us throwing the peels away. And don't even pretend to eat some of her banana. She usually thinks it's really funny if I pretend to eat her food, but she gets MAD if I do it with a banana.

What a beautiful girl! Sorry the beach trip didn't go as planned, it's a good thing you will be there another 5 months or so. Funny thing...the Easter Bunny left that same ball in my baby's basket and he LOVES it. Only draw back is that now he throws EVERYTHING!!!
Thanks for the great post and the wonderful pictures. Nice of you to listen to me once in a while.
Love you all, Grandad (and Granny)
My favorite part of this post (besides the scrumptious baby) is the image I now have of you two sitting in the bathroom together... it makes me smile. What we won't do for our kids!
I LOOOOVE the pic of little T on your header! It is gorgeous! SHE is gorgeous! Is that from your normal camera? It actually looks kinda professional... And TARA! There were 3 pictures of you up! Yay! Tressa is quite adorable, but I miss seeing you, too... :( Sounds like it was still a fun trip, despite the less-than-cooperative weather. Her first albino gator, huh? Was she impressed? ;) I love how serious she is about her bananas, too funny! I'm laughing about staying in the bathroom, too! Z and I had to do the same thing sharing a room w/the twins on our cruise. Of course, he would go down to the restaurants and bring back lots of yummy desserts to share while waiting, so not so bad...
Lol!!! Bananas are a hot commodity apparently! That's hilarious that you can't even pretend to eat it! Ha ha, the bathroom, gotta love it! I Love that picture of you with your hair in the breeze and T upside down, so beautiful. What a fun time. "...loaded up Tressa and Kevin" sounds like you have two little ones, hee hee. Brigit just said, "I loove that picture." about the header, she is so cute(T), look at those eyes in the last 3 pictures... An albino alligator, I don't remember ever seeing one. T is quite yummy, definitely wait on the gator intros. Just kidding, Marc could totally take any alligator that even sniffed at her...ha ha, now I have an awesome picture in my head of Marc wrestling a gator!
