Cinderellas

So...yet another princess dress that was supposed to be for the T's birthday. Seriously, I'm not buying anymore presents for her until the day before! (Not counting the little pink bike that is waiting in the shed for the 29th. I won't have any trouble not giving her that one early, because I'm pretty much dreading having to teach her how to ride it.) Anyway. I got this blue fairy dress on some discount site several months ago, and T immediately declared it a Cinderella dress.

She totally came up with that pose on her own.

Having been heavily influenced by her sister, Nora already gets super excited to dress up as well. Teresa loves it when they are both Cinderella.

I made the girls some finger paints a few weeks ago. Nora was thrilled that she actually got to participate this time. She was not as thrilled when Teresa decided to use her as a canvas.

Did I say finger paints? I must have meant whole-body-paints...

Messy hands.

Things she says: Nora edition

Our little Nora is becoming quite the chatter box, her cute little vocabulary is growing each day.

So far her list of favorites includes:

cheeeese - for the camera and the food

please - she will bring me a baby doll and some clothes with a sweet little 'please' to dress them up for her

ant oooo - her little version of 'thank you'.

Teesee - what she calls Teresa. T was playing peek a boo a few days ago and I was saying "where's Teresa", and Nora piped up with "Teesee, Teesee", it was so cute.

asses, asses, down - She loves to play ring around the rosies, and if I'm busy when she wants to do it she will just spin her little self in a circle and say "asses, asses, down!" and plop down on her bum.

bess ou - Bless you, anytime one of us sneezes.

hee kitty - here kitty, she smooshes herself flat against the ground so she can see under the entertainment center, where that darn cat always hides. Then she calls "hee kitty, hee kitty" while she stretches her little arm as far as she can to reach him.

And all the usual's like apple, hi, bye, mama, and daddy. She can tell us what a cat, dog, and horse say, she kept saying 'neigh' while we were looking at the zebras at the circus, too.

Here's a little video I took a week or so ago, her meow's are much more clear now, since she's had a real cat to practice them on. Did I mention we got another cat? He is pale orange and came with the name Jagger, but T calls him Jaguars. He's totally lame and hides all day until the girls go to bed, then he comes out and sits at my feet while passing the foulest smelling gas I've ever smelled, which is saying a lot, when you think about who I live with...We've had him about two weeks and the girls have only gotten to pet him a handful of times. We'll see how much longer he lasts.

Anyway, on to the video.

The one where we go to the Circus

We took the girls to the circus this week.

Teresa was pretty excited, as you can see above. It was just a small circus, but the girls had a really great time. T really was excited by the elephants, despite what her face would indicate below, she loved that they were just like the ones on her circus shirt:

Both girls were absolutely enthralled by the circus acts, Teresa kept begging to get down in the ring and dance. She loved, loved the acrobatics and gymnastic-y ones, and kept asking to "go do that, too".

We went out to see the zebras and other animals during intermission, but Teresa was only interested in "doing some tricks" like she had just seen. She kept climbing on the fence and trying to show us some tricks.

Nora loved the animals.

Teresa had been envious of all the cotton candy around us during the first half, so we let her get some during intermission. You'll be shocked to hear that she and Nora both loved it.

I was there too...

I had to include this picture because I just love Nora's face so. much. in it. She's awesome.

This was the best picture I could get of the ring, it really was quite a small circus, we had gotten a Groupon that included all of our tickets, plus free pizza. We definitely would not have gone otherwise, they were charging an arm and a leg for regular tickets.

Teresa had a complete breakdown about 20 minutes before it was over, so we left a few minutes early. She'd had a pretty long day before the circus, and she was so tired that on the way home she refused the offer to get some ice cream and said she just wanted to go home and have some juice. Then she immediately fell asleep for the rest of the car ride. I was worried all the drama at the end ruined the whole thing for her, but when we got home she said it was really fun and has been talking about it for the rest of the week.

Easter

T's first Easter we were moving to Florida, and last year we were in Texas over Easter, so this was our first year to really 'do' Easter with the girls. One of these years we might even dye some eggs. The girls were thrilled with their little baskets. We didn't want to make things too much about the Easter Bunny so we kept their baskets pretty low key, just a chocolate bunny and a few eggs.

Nora was the first to spot them:

I found some little plastic dinosaurs at Wal-mart to put in their eggs, and they were a huge hit. Both girls liked them, but Nora has been playing with them non-stop all week. She'll run them along the couch or the coffee table saying "rawrrr, rawrrr", it's so cute.

We did a little egg hunt with a few of their friends, too. Our community egg hunt was last weekend, and it was soooooo lame. They had a few larger eggs with a small bunny toy in them, but the majority of the eggs were totally empty. Poor T was super excited to open her eggs, and then would get so disappointed as egg after egg turned out to be empty.

So, having been burned once before, she would carefully shake each egg before putting it in her basket, to make sure there was actually something in it. Even though I told her several times that none of the eggs at this hunt would be empty, she still had to verify it herself.

Waiting for the go ahead:

And they're off:

Nora was a little confused at first, as seen above, and would put the eggs in what ever basket was closest, regardless of whether or not it was hers. She figured it out, though.

Nora didn't bother with removing wrappers before digging in:

Nora's little bff was there too, they are so cute when they interact, Nora gets so excited when we see her:

Sorry for all the pictures, but Nora just kept being so cute, I loved the way she was carrying her basket around:

T was super pleased with this ring she found in one of her eggs:

T ditched the egg collecting near the end and she and Mina practiced some t-ball skills. She figured the whole thing out on her own, I was pretty surprised when she picked up that ball and placed it on the tee to hit it. I'm so excited to get her into these little sports teams, we are hoping to find a t-ball or soccer team for her this summer, so far all the ones I've found require them to be three by May 1st :(.
