The girls had so much fun with all the cousins and grandparents and aunts and uncles, and getting to actually play outside. I had not-so-much-fun with all the vomiting and being sick, etc, but at least the girls didn't have to spend my whole first trimester watching TV like they would have if we were at home.
Making 'stones' (scones) with Grandad.
Took the girls to the temple in San Antonio. I love Nora's face here.
T loved that her hair bow matched the flowers.
Guess how long this lasted.
We went to the San Antonio Stock Show. Not the Rodeo this time :(. But T really loved petting this 'reindeer'.
Teresa's main request at the stock show was to get her face painted, so that was our last stop. She was so cute with her dragon, she kept turning to me with her mouth open wide. She thought it was pretty cool that when she opened her mouth the dragon opened its mouth too.
I'm pretty sure both my girls would have been happy if we'd just left them at Aunt Melissa's house.
Aunt Bayissa.
Nora fell in love with M's rody horse, so we knew exactly what to get her for her 2nd birthday when we got back.
Cousins.
Sick Nora.
Poor Nora got RSV while we were there. Marc took her to the ER and they told him if we'd waited another day she probably would have had to be hospitalized. I'm so glad we were at Melissa's house when she had it, because I definitely wouldn't have noticed how bad she was in time. Neither of our girls have had it before, and she didn't seem all that sick - her nose was runny but clear, and she kept saying her eyes hurt, but they didn't look sick at all. Melissa's had enough run-ins with RSV that she noticed right away that her breathing was off. She was so pathetic when they finally got back from the ER. She'd had some cough medicine and some breathing treatments, then Marc put her to bed with a bottle of juice. She was coughing a ton and after a few minutes I was pretty sure I heard her throw up. Then her sad little voice piped up "help me, help me". It was the saddest thing ever. Aunt Melissa was awesome and sat up in the rocking chair with her until 3 in the morning since I was too sick to do it and Marc was wiped out from being at the ER for 6 hours.
Marc came back from the park one day with this picture of Teresa - I couldn't believe she was willing and eager to climb that high all on her own.
We flew home the day before Nora turned 2 (yes, we did plan our whole trip around Nora still being young enough to not need a plane ticket), so we met Auntie Aislinn and a few cousins at the zoo and had some birthday cupcakes the day before we left.
On the way home Marc FINALLY got to ride in an airplane with our children for the first time. The girls were totally perfect on the plane, so it looks like I'm going to have to plan another trip for just the three of them so he can really experience the joys of flying with children.

Those are great pics ... looks like they had so much fun at Aunt Bayissa's house too ... such cute children ... mostly wearing matching outfits :) We loved having you here, and we miss you. Love you all, Mom (Dad too) xox
YEAH!!! A new blog post!!
We had so much fun with you guys, and I would have been perfectly happy for you to leave your girls with us for a few weeks! :)
We are all so happy that you came and loved making fun family memories together!!We need to hang out more often! ;)
Poor RSV'd Nora! That's great that Melissa knew the signs. I prob wouldn't have, either! That hippo statue thing is so cool, that Ciaran and T are on. And good job, Tressa, on climbing so high!!! It stinks that you were so sick while there, but you're right... it was also good to have the help taking care of/entertaining the girlies. Maeve got a Rody for her 2nd birthday. A red one! She still loves it. I hope you're feeling better!!!
