A visit from Gigi and Poppie

Teresa and Nora were excited to get a visit from Gigi and Poppie last week. We started Saturday off at T's soccer game. For the first time ever, Nora agreed to sit quietly on the blanket and watch instead of roaming all over for me to chase her down. She was so cute, she would cheer "kick it Teesa!!".

After the game we headed down to Philly to see some stuff and, of course, to eat some sandwiches.
Geno's has a nice little park right across the street, so the girls got to play in between delicious bites of cheese steak.

T was pretty funny with this mural - she walked over and inspected it for a few minutes, and then turned around and backed herself into it.

Marc and Poppie

Gigi brought some fun little crafts for the girls to do. Nora LOVED this scarecrow guy, she's been carrying him around a lot -she calls him Halloween.

T stringing her necklace. She was very particular about what beads she wanted where.

T named her scarecrow Tony. She named Nora's Tony as well.

Gigi and I took Nora to Romp n' Stomp while T was at Joy School. Nora seemed a little disoriented to be there without T at first, but eventually she got excited to play on her own. She walked around the whole perimeter of the car/ride-on toy area trying out each and every car before she picked one.

Gigi and the girls made some delicious cupcakes.

Messy faces.

T was so funny, she really wanted to go play outside one day. I went over to unlock the safety lock on the door so she could get out and then went to open the blinds as she was headed out the door. As I lifted the blinds up they broke and came crashing down right on poor Teresa's face. She only ended up with two little scratches on her forehead, but it scared her pretty badly. I went outside to take some pictures of her cute outfit, and when she saw the camera she said "are you here to take pictures of my owie?". I told her that I wasn't planning to, but she insisted on it. So here's the cute picture of T:

And the picture of her pointing out her owie, which you can't really see too well in the pictures.

I just want to squeeze her.

Teresa is really super into Halloween this year, so going to Joann's was really exciting. She found this witch hat and enjoyed wearing it around the store for a while.

The winner and runner-up of Pretty Pretty Princess:

It was Nora's first time playing - we usually wait until her nap time to break out the board games.
She loved it.

T found this knight stuff at the dollar store - in fact, she completely ignored the princess-y section and went straight to the knight stuff when we were there. Crazy.

I was trying to get a picture of sleepy Nora here, but she is always ready to bust out a smile for the camera.

We went to feed the ducks, but they were super lame. Two of them wandered over for a bit, but I guess our bread wasn't exciting enough for them, because they left. The girls emjoyed feeding the fish, though.

Cute girls.

We were sad to see them go after a whole week of fun!

I've had lotsa fun looking at your nice pics :) What a nice Gigi...she always manages to find wonderful treasures to play with...the scarecrows are so cute...I can tell N had some unique ideas about how to decorate hers! Pretty pretty princess must be a fun game, and I like all the finery that goes along with it... Yum, the Philly sandwiches looked very good ... heeheehee, T just blends into that mural. Oh, and I notice a Milligan family room mural too...very nice! T's hair is lovely...the braids are very cute, and her curls seem to have lightened up even more. It's so funny that N is always ready to produce big grins for the camera...sleepy or not! Isn't Gigi lucky to have such great helpers with the cupcakes... looks like they enjoyed eating them too. T looks so tall next to N at the door... and N has bright blue eyes in some of those pics... poor T, torn knees in her jeans...very fashionable! Hope her owie is healed ... yes, I can see the two little scratches. What a fun visit you all had with Gigi and Poppie... you all look great... the adults too ... just more random comments to make about the cute little girls... Thanks for sharing! Love, Mom (Dad too) xox

My absolute favorite picture: T and N at the door with their cupcakes, with Tressa in her undies smiling down at Nora. It's so cute! And T looks so old and tall and leggy! That hairstyle, half-pulled back, is really cute on her. Nora's such a happy, smiley girl! I love it! Sounds (and looks) like y'all had a great time with Gigi and Poppie. That mural that T joined is really cool. It's so funny that she inserted herself into it! Also, Geno's should give y'all frequent diner cards. I mean, I know you only eat there when you're in Philly, but the number of times it's appeared on your blog is at least some good, free advertising! Yummmm!!! Oh, and the scarecrows are cute, too :D Halloween is just such a fun time of year! Way to go, T, getting some knight stuff in the mix!
