Teresa and I got to go visit Marc in Pensacola this past weekend. We loved it! Teresa was great on the planes, again. I'm so lucky that she is such a great traveler. I'm also always really impressed by how nice and helpful people are when you fly alone with a baby. I always have someone offering to carry our bags or hold Teresa while I get our stuff together or go through security. That helps a lot. I'll have to remember that 30 years from now when I see some young mother traveling by herself...

We stayed in a cute hotel on base, it turned out to be WAY nicer on the inside than it was on the outside. It was so fun to get to be a real family again for the weekend ;). Teresa was such a happy girl the whole time. Marcus had a lot of fun seeing all the new things she's learned how to do since he was here at Christmas time. The weather was super windy and rainy on Saturday, so we went to the Naval Air Museum on base. (Marc's training is at a Navy base, which is why it was a Naval museum). It was pretty interesting, lots of planes to look at and that kind of stuff. Teresa was pretty indifferent to the whole experience, until she fell asleep in the wrap.

Marc got to sit in one of the planes. I could definitely not be a pilot. They have to sit in the tiniest spaces.

They had lots of interesting World War II stuff...this is a replica of the Atomic Bomb that was dropped on Japan. Can you believe how huge it was? No wonder it was so effective.

That night we ate at an Irish pub in town. It's supposedly the very best resturaunt in all of Pensacola. The food was pretty good, except for their totally inaccurate interpretation of boxty. Right after we ordered, the hostess brought a slightly older couple in to sit at a table by us, but they asked to move, because they didn't want to sit next to Teresa. Not cool. Especially since Teresa was just perfect the whole time. We brought a banana and some baby food puffs for her, which she loved. I love that she can sit in a high chair now, it makes things so much easier.

Wouldn't you just love to sit by this baby girl in a restaurant?

Odds are pretty good that we'll be moving to Pensacola in March, and this weekend totally won me over to that idea. Marc will graduate from AIT on the 26th of March and his Sergeants have recommended him for two classes that would last another 5 months there. If he gets into one of those, Teresa and I will be moving out there to join him. Don't ask me when we'll know, though, because it seems like nobody knows the answer to that question. Anyway, here's one of the things (the main thing) that changed my mind about moving to Florida:

We found the beach on Monday, before Marcus took us to the airport. It was gorgeous, and only about fifteen minutes away from the base. We were bummed that the weather had been so lame the rest of the weekend, or we would have definitely spent more time at the beach. Monday was gorgeous though, and Teresa had fun with her second beach experience. She wasn't too sure of the sand, at first. She kept putting her hands down to crawl but would pull them back when she felt the sand. She figured it out eventually, though.

Only nine more weeks of training!

Oh, and if you're interested in seeing more pictures (mostly of Teresa, of course) here's the facebook link:

I am so glad you guys had so much fun. I love a man willing to wear his baby! Marcus looks great and happy, probably because you were there with him. And those people were CRAZY to not want to sit by your precious angel...their loss!!

How wonderful to spend time with Marcus, and I'm so happy that T is a great traveler... I would have laughed/ mocked/ pitied the couple who asked to move at the restaurant. That is so classless. Yes, if the child is already throwing tantrums & food. But a cute little darling? pssshhhh.

Wow, beautiful beach!! And beautiful baby, of course! I love the pic of her on the beach. She'd totally make a good beach baby. And that couple...lame! Like I said b4, they sooo missed out. And yeah, that's a pretty big bomb...

So happy together! Y'all are so cute! I love the shot of T on the beach too, and nice planes. What crazy old people, they don't deserve to sit by her. Florida sounds great!
