Because it's been two months since our last post...

I guess two months between posts is too long, based on some of the complaints I've been getting ;)...but we haven't really been doing much, besides STILL being pregnant, which I'm starting to think is never going to end. I'm really, really ready for it to be June already.

We had a fun baby shower in Baytown, here are some pictures:

We got some really nice gifts, including an awesome stroller/carseat combination. Now we can actually bring her home from the hospital. Yay! As you can see by the pictures, we had the cutest cake ever, courtesy of Miss Angie. It could seriously have been on the Food Network or something. Melissa and I felt like it was way too pretty to actually cut and eat, but we did anyway.

We're starting to feel like we're almost prepared to actually have a baby come live with us...Aislinn and Curtis were nice enough to loan us a cradle for her to sleep in...I guess after 5 and a half kids, you start to have a lot of baby stuff on hand :). Marcus put it together this week, so her room is pretty much all ready for her...although, since we're moving in July, it felt kinda pointless to get so organized. Oh well, I guess it will be good for that whole month or so that we'll still be living here.

In other news, our fish, Steve, died. He was a decoration at our wedding, and Mom and Dad were nice enough to keep him alive while we were in Utah. He started looking really awkward, and just hanging in his tank vertically, sticking his nose out of the water occasionally. Also, he was looking all green around the gills (turns out that's not just a saying). He looked pretty awful for several days before he finally died. I looked up beta fish killers online, and we're pretty sure he died from either ammonia or nitrite poisoning...we found out that he probably hemorrhaged to death, which is sad for him. Sad for us was that we had just bought brand new fish food for him, and he never even ate any of it before he died.

Hmmm...I think that's it for now...we just found the charger for our camera, so maybe we will take some pictures soon and post those....

Yahoo! A post! Thank you...it was WAY too long! Now get a pregnant picture up! Your baby is due NEXT month. Doesn't that just sound crazy?? That cake is gorgeous. I, too, would find it difficult to cut into. And I LOVE the stroller/carseat combo, great colors!

Sorry about Steve. Poor little guy, that sounds like a painful way to die. Guess you need to buy another fish, to use up that food, or you could donate it to a down-on-his-luck beta fish, if you can find one... Keep posting! I feel absolutely no guilt for bugging you! ;)

This is not Dad ... though he had fun with this blog post too ...
I am so glad you posted those pics ... what a lovely party table, and, oh my, the cake is beautiful! Are those stick-ons on the sides of both cakes, the cute lion, etc? .... surely they are not made of frosting? Also, what are the shoes made of? They are SO cute! I love the stroller/car-seat combo ... It will be very exciting to have little Teresa Brigit occupy them! Love, Mom xox

Wow cake. What a beautiful cake! And I'm so happy for you that you have such a darling stroller. Just don't store it in the garage UNCOVERED for many months or the next time you want to use it will look like it's 10 years old and used by a hundred babies. !!!! Love ya and congratulations. =)
