T's Birthday Party, part 1

Teresa and her little bff had a joint third birthday party this past weekend. Mina is three at the beginning of May, and Teresa is 3 at the end of May, so the middle of May was the perfect time to do it. We rented a bounce house for the day, and of course the girls and all their friends had a blast with all the bouncing. Marc took 900 + pictures, so it might take me a while to get them all sorted and up here! The bounce house was castle shaped, so we went with a castle-y theme for the party, and the girls picked pink and purple as the colors.

Mina's mom and I had fun getting everything ready for the party - I think I spent more of last week at their house than at mine dealing with the preparations...

Marc's mom found this cute idea for making your own pinata, and it worked out really well, and was way cheaper than a 'real' pinata. I think it turned out really cute!

Instead of hitting it, each child pulls out one of those ribbons, but only one of them will open the little hatch at the bottom and release all the goodies.

We made a castle cake, and the girls were both SO excited about it. T was having such a hard time the whole party, she would come in every few minutes begging to cut the cake.

Fondant princesses:

We definitely had to stop Teresa from licking it a few times...

Nora and her little bf had fun as well:

They are so cute together, they just make each other giggle so much.

Teresa VERY reluctantly posed for a picture with me:

And then all the girls had fun bouncing while they waited for the guests to arrive.

That's Mina's dad, whom T has a big 'ol crush on. When the bounce house was almost set up we called the girls over to look out the window and asked them what they saw. Mina excitedly noticed the bounce house, while Teresa excitedly exclaimed "I see Dru!!". She is not so subtle about her feelings for him ;).

The babies had some trouble staying on their feet for long, but they still loved every minute of it.

I'll leave you with a shot of Nora's cute little bum:

In a box

What is it with kids and boxes? The girls were having the best time with this box the other night before bed. It took Nora a little while to be able to climb in and get herself turned around, but she was bound and determined to do it.

Teresa was much too big, but she remedied that by turning the box on it's end and climbing in from the top.

Nora was pretty impatient to get another turn at it.

Then Nora started playing peek a boo, and it was pretty much the cutest thing I've ever seen. Here are some videos:

And, of course, the T wanted in on the action too:

The girlies

I took some pictures of the girls with Marc's camera this week, and when I went to get them off his card I found a bunch that I had totally forgotten about. So. Here they are.

The girls had fun playing with the baby tub while it was waiting to go out to storage:

Little Miss Sassy-pants.

She looks way too old in this picture

You might have read this on FB, but T is in love with American flags right now (or 'Merican flags, as she says it.). She first noticed one on my parents wall when we were in Texas, she pointed it out and said "look, that's our flag, just like Daddy's", referring to the one on his uniform. So now that's all we hear when we go out "Look, Dad, there's a 'Merican flag, just like yours!". She gets really excited about them, and was thrilled to find one of her very own at the dollar store. She looked so cute and patriotic waiving it around outside that I just had to go take some pictures of her.

Nora eating her first mango seed. She super loved it.

Here's Teresa's first mango seed, at pretty much exactly the same age. Look at what a cute little chub she was!

She's pretending to be asleep here.

Teresa had a fever the first few days of this week, so we spent a lot of time lounging about feeling poorly. T was on the couch watching a movie and Nora wanted to sit by her. I helped Nora up and T stuck her arm around her, it was so sweet. They've been sitting like that all week now whenever they get to watch TV.

Nora has really been getting into dancing more lately. It mostly involves bending her knees a bunch, but she likes to spin in circles too. She also looooves to hold hands with me and Teresa and dance in a circle. I took a few videos of them dancing this morning.

She insisted on having her shoes on to dance. And that's green smoothie in her bottle, I know it looks kinda gross.
