Foto Friday...a day late.

Making the second installment of a brand new series late probably isn't a good way to do things, but we were having technical issues last night. I was taking some pictures of loose change in my pocket(I don't know why) when a little hand model decided to help me out. :) Below is the latest Foto Friday photo.

Just a tiny little video

This is the best video of the Bear walking that we've been able to get. She, of course, refuses to perform when we pull the camera out, little rascal! She is walking more and more now. It's fun to watch her. She will walk to stuff as long as it's not too far away. Anything requiring more than 6ish steps she crawls to. It's a week or so old, I've been trying to post it for awhile, but blogger hasn't been the most cooperative :(. Sorry about it being sideways, we just can't seem to remember not to tilt the camera for videos!

She likes him

She likes to hang out with him when he FINALLY comes home from work:

She crawled into his lap and made him share his oatmeal this morning. Because, you know, if you're eating something, she should be too:

She likes to eat snacks with him on the couch:

She likes to read with him:

I like him too ;)

Adventures in Swimming

We got to take Tressa swimming today and snapped a few fun pictures while we were there. She wasn't a fan at first(see frown), but warmed up to it once the sun came out.

Foto Friday

Since I've started getting back into photography a little bit, Tara thought it would be fun to have a "Foto Friday" on the blog. Foto Friday will probably end up being just a quick post and a picture taken during the week that we either like or is just fun to share.

The above photo was taken while I was bored one Saturday, and was just snapping away at objects in the house. I like taking pictures of common objects from an uncommon angle and this one was one we liked. This is a bunny Tressa is getting for her birthday and the light hit it just right while it was on the desk.

The Perfect GCS

I've been quietly and patiently working on a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich (GCS) for some time, and I think that I struck gold tonight. I can't take the credit however, as butter and Boar's Head Pepperhouse Gourmaise did all the work.

What is this Gourmaise you ask? It's deliciousness in a bottle. Every sandwich product it has touched in our house has been quickly devoured. Boar's Head describes it as, "a savory spread of mayonnaise, deli mustard and [a] house blend of peppercorns". We're both mustard haters, but we were instantly won over by this sauce when we sampled it at our local Publix (Tara's new favourite grocery store). Hopefully you can find it at a grocer near you. Below is the recipe for our new favourite GCS:

Ingredients
2 pieces of bread (we recommend whole wheat)
Thinly sliced Medium Cheddar Cheese
Boar's Head Pepperhouse Gourmaise
Sliced Yellow Onion
Butter

Directions:
Pre-heat a medium-sized skillet on a stove top (medium heat). Take 2 slices of bread and spread a light coating of Gourmaise across one side of each slice (a little goes a long way). Cover one slice of bread with slices of the medium cheddar cheese. Note: thin slices melt quicker and allow for the bread and cheese to be ready at the same time. Place slices of yellow onion on the cheese and place the other slice of bread on top of the other. Spread a thin layer of butter on the slice of bread facing you and place the buttered face of the sandwich on the warm skillet. Butter the non-butter side (should be facing up). Flip frequently. Grill to golden perfection. Enjoy :)

I would have included a picture of these wonders, but we ate them too quickly. :)

Crawfish

Have I mentioned that the humidity level in Florida is always at about 1000%? It's ridiculous. I don't even bother straightening my hair here, since it poofs up as soon as we walk out the door. On the plus side, T's hair gets these cute little ringlets in the back and all over that I just love.

Anyway...we went to the Pensacola Crawfish Festival on Saturday. It wasn't especially festival-ish, it was mostly just a bunch of people eating crawfish together outside. We had fun, though. Marc and Kevin ate a ton of crawfish (three pounds each...), I ate a couple of crawfish, and T yelled at us a lot for not giving her any crawfish. We did let Teresa try alligator for the first time while we were there. She reacted to it the way she does to all food: she wanted more. Sometimes I think she doesn't even taste what she's eating, she just loves to eat anything!

Tressa just happened to be wearing her 'I heart Cheerios' shirt that day, and the Cheerio's Nascar just happened to be at the festival too. Of course we had to take T's picture by it. She wasn't as excited about it as we were. She was pretty ready for a nap at this point.

Marc and Kevin are growing moustaches. They started the same day, but as you can see, Marc is definitely falling behind...he only has until Tressa's birthday, then it's coming off!

And, especially for Bran:
